Riverside – South Bank

The team at Admired Building Services had an integral role in the construction and upgrade of the existing fig tree seating adjacent to the South Bank Parkland playground. Having reached the end of their design life and require replacement, our team worked with the Principal Contractor to help achieve the improved seating amenity, new decking eatery areas and additional front river seating & planter boxes boosting ability to dwell and enjoy the river views under the dappled shade of the existing Moreton Bay Fig trees.

Another key function of the existing seating was to protect the root zones of the existing trees from compaction and damage because of high patronage. The final documentation and construction methodology needed to remain flexible to adapt to changes based on exact tree root locations. Further exploration of the existing tree roots was not possible until the demolition of the existing seating & thus ensuring our final shop drawings to be checked via a site measure & prior to fabrication. The Admired team work endlessly over 12 months offsite fabricating and preparing the materials for deliveries to site for the final installation by our team. This is truly one to be ADMIRED for decades to come.
